Larger deals led the surge, with late-stage investments contributing most. Late-stage funding, covering Series C and later rounds, private equity and pre-IPO rounds, climbed 121% to $12.4 billion from $5.6 billion. Nscale, a London HPC and datacenter company, raised a $2 billion Series C, while self-driving firm Wayve secured $1.2 billion in a Series D and quantum hardware company Oqc Tech raised $350 million in a Series C.
Early-stage funding rose 58% to $10.9 billion from $6.9 billion. London computational drug discovery firm Isomorphic Labs raised a $2.1 billion Series B, while AI computing provider FluidStack raised $1.5 billion in a Series B and $842 million in a Series A.
Seed funding doubled to $2.4 billion from $1.2 billion. Ineffable, a London reinforcement learning company founded in 2025, raised a $1.1 billion seed round. Haatch led seed activity with 25 investments, followed by SFC Capital with 20 and Fuel Ventures with 14.
The UK minted 18 new unicorns, up 260% from five a year earlier. London produced 15 of them and Cambridge two, and the capital kept its place as the country’s leading tech hub with the majority of funding. FluidStack and Ineffable joined the list.
Notable exits also included MARI’s $6.1 billion acquisition of ATG Entertainment and Pelican’s IPO.
